AFFILIATED TENNIS CLUBS PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the Auckland Lawn Tenuis Association, a jubilee ball was held in the Peter Pan Cabaret last night. There was a large attendance of guests, including representatives from over 20 affiliated clubs, the name of each club in black and gold lettering being placed over tho cubicle reserved for that particular club. The trophies, which included a cup, shield and seven pennants, which had been won during the past season in inter-club competition, were displayed on a table and were later presented to tho winners by Mrs. Percy Harrison, wife of the president. Adding considerably to the evening's enjoyment was a burlesque tennis match, tho players wearing oldfashioned costumes. The long skirts and amazing hats worn by tho players were a source of much amusement to tho gathering. The blue and whito colours of the association were used to decorate the orchestral dais, while in the supper room the tables were charmingly arranged with tall vases of golden toned chrysanthemums anil wide gold streamers, emblematic of the anniversary. Tho guests were received by the president, Mr. Percy Harrison, and Mrs. Harrison, who was wearing a frock of powder blue taffetas, shot with wistaria. A bouquet of roses and carnations was presented to Mrs. Harrison by members of the committee. The ladies on the committee present were: —Mrs. S.
