LABOURER'S OFFENCE
REMANDED FOR SENTENCE The trial of Arthur Gordon Kale, labourer, on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl seven years of age, was continued before Mr. Justice Fair in the Supreme Court yesterday. The offence was alleged to have been committed at Epsom on March 24. The Crown Prosecutor, Mr. V. R. Meredith, conducted the prosecution. For the defence, Mr. Noble called no evidence at the close of the Crown case, but attacked the evidence of identification of the accused, and suggested that a mistake might have been made. After a brief retirement the jury found the accused guilty, and added a recommendation that he be medically examined. He was remanded for sentence.
