BRIDGE CHAMPIONSHIP
In recognition of tho growing popularity of duplicate contract bridge, the Auckland Bridge Club recently instituted an annual open championship event for teams of four. The club ha.® presented a handsome trophy, which will be lield by tho winners for a year, and replicas of tho trophy will also be presented. Nominations for the first contest closed on Friday, and drew entries from I'2 teams. The contest should prove very interesting, some of Auckland's leading players being engaged. Five Olympic tournament winners aro included in the various teams.
