Wednesday Further preliminary census results supplied by the Census and Statistics Office are as follows: — Increase or 1936 1926 decrease Takapuna Borough 7,258 6,075 +1,183 Brunner Borough.. 993 618 +3SO Sumner Borough.. 8,217 3,100 +147 Hamilton Borough 16.127 14,018 +2,109 Johnsonville Town District . . 1,740 1,297 +443 Oxford County .. 1,697 1,669 +2B Paparua County .. 6,753 5,168 +585 Lyttelton Borough 3,264 3,709 -445 COOK ISLANDS FIGURES LARGE INCREASE ANTICIPATED [BY TELEGRAM —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Wednesday The census of Cook Islands —the whole group comprising 13 inhabited islands — will be made to-morrow. It is expected that the figures will disclose a largo increase compared with the last census in 1926, the increase being chiefly in the lower group. As the islands are scattered and schooner communication is very infrequent, it will bo some months before the complete figures ere available.
