CRUSHED BY A TREE

ELDERLY MAN INJURED CONDITION VERY SERIOUS Crushed by a falling tree, Mr. Emanuel Pena, aged 80, of Opaheko Road, Papakura, was very seriously injured yesterday. Mr. Pena was helping to fell a tree on a property near hi* home, and as the tree was falling he ran away, but tripped, and was struck by the tree. The tree was lifted off him, and he was found to be suffering from head and other injuries. He was attended by Dr. G. W. Locke, of Papakura, before being taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
