Mr. H. F. 0. Twigden left by train last evening for Wellington. Mr. W. H. Cocker left for the South by train yesterday afternoon. Mr. J. Fletcher returned from the South by yesterday morning's limited express. The S. R. Wareing, vicar of Te Awamutu, has resigned. He will leave for England in September. Mr. A. T. Donnelly, of Christchurch, arrived from the South by the limited express yesterday morning. Mr. W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, returned to Wellington by last evening's limited express. Captain R. C. Hammond, manager of the Northern Steamship Company, Limited, left for the South by train last evening. Mr. Arthur A. Hume has been appointed to succeed the late Mr. George A. Green as Dominion organiser of the Horticultural Trades Association. Captain H. T. C. Walker, formerly commander of H.M.A.S. Canberra, arrived at Wellington by the Monowai from Sydney on Monday, accompanied by Mrs. Walker and their two children. The Rev. H. K. Archdall, formerly headmaster of King's College, has accepted the position of chaplain of Wellington College, Berkshire, England. He has also been appointed a member of the research committee of the Institute of Christian Education, London. Mr. Frank Goldberg, governing director of the Goldberg Advertising Proprietary, Limited, will be a through passenger by the Mariposa, which is due at Auckland from Sydney on Saturday. He is proceeding on an extended business tour abroad and will return to Australia about the end of the year.
