NEWMARKET TRAFFIC

PARKING RESTRICTIONS COUNCIL ADOPTS CHANGES Recommendations for the control of traffic at Newmarket were submitted to the Borough Council last night by the inspector, Mr. E. McGerty. The report recommended that parking be prohibited in Station Street between Broadway and the western boundary of Osborne Street, and in Broadway between the northern boundary of the Municipal Buildings and the premises occupied by Battery Supplies,. Limited, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9.15 a.m., and between 4.30 p.m. and 6.]5 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays, and on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 9.15 a.m., and 11 a.m. and 1.15 p.m. It also recommended that no parking bo allowed between the Newmarket Hotel and the southern boundary of Station Street during the above hours. The inspector also recommended that all traffic should keep to the left of safety zones, and that the setting down and picking up of passengers at zones be prohibited. It was decided to adopt the report and to draft by-laws covering the proposals.
