KENTISH ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men and A\ omen was held at the association's new clubrooms, Thompson's Buildings, Queen Street. The president, Mr. W. J. Lane, presided over a large gathering of members. The report presented by the lion, secretary, Mrs. Webster, showed that a very successful year hod been experienced, both socially and financially. Visitors from Kent, England, had been entertained, and an interchange of visits made with other Home associations. Special thanks were accorded the artists who had assisted at tho monthly socials and others who had helped in many ways. Sir Frederic Lang was elected life-patron in appreciation of his services to the branch. Officers for the year are as follows: President, Mr. W. J. Lane; immediate past president, Mr. S. E. Langstone; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Hatcher, F. H. Eady, G. Baker, J. H. Westbrook, J. W. Jenks; hon. secretary, Mrs. Webster; hon. auditor, Mrs. A. PalmerForbes; committee, Mesdames H. W. Bobinson, A. Maney. E. Eraser, J. W. Jenks, Eady-Payne, Messrs. E. W. Bobbins, C. F. Anderson and E. S. Woolley. After supper an enjoyable musical programme was given comprising songs by Mrs. C. Gray, Miss Gladys Barton, and Air. 10. Eraser, and duets by Mrs. G. Baker and Mrs. J. B. Jones, the accompanist being Mrs. Eady-Payne.
