The Pilsudski and the Washington, the two nearest vessels, are rushing to her assistance. Soon after the St. Quentin's distress call was picked up another vessel, the Ivanhoe, of Norwegian registry, called for aid and the Pilsudski responded, leaving the Washington to care for the St. Quentin. Reports indicate that a south-westerly gale is sweeping across the North Atlantic. The British freighter Rushpool also wirelessed that she was in difficulties, but later cancelled her call for aid. The St. Quentin, formerly the Lady Plymouth, is a steamer of 3528 gross tons, built in 1915 at Campbelltown. She is owned by the St. Quentin Shipping Company, Limited, and her port of registry is Newport. The Ivanhoe is a steamer of 466S gross tons, built in 11)19 at Sydney. She belongs to the Norasiatic Steamship Company, Limited, ami her port of registry is Trondheirn, Norway. The Rushpool is cwned by the Pool Shipping Company, Limited, and her port of registry is West Hartlepool. She is a steamer of 5125 tons, built in 1928 at Blyth.
