WAIOTIRA BRANCH OF UNION [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] WAIOTIRA, Monday At the annual meeting of the Wai-kiekie-Waiotira branch of the Farmers' Union the following officers were elected: —President, Mr. F. Jones; vicepresident, Mr. S. Mason; secretary, Mr. G. Cubitt; delegate to Whangarei sub-provincial executive, Mr. J. Stephen; executive committee, Messrs. R. Babe, E. Babe, R. Porter and C. Dobson. The following remits are to be submitted for discussion by the Whangarei sub-provincial executive:—That the Government bo urged to reconstruct railway fences, as they are renewed, as close to the line as possible so that adjoining farmers can Combat noxious weeds; that the Government be asked to take over the grading of pigs for export.
