KINDERGARTEN AFFAIRS

WORK DURING THE YEAR REFRESHER COURSE A refresher course for teachers and students was the outstanding event of the year, states the annual report of the Auckland Kindergarten Association. The subsidy for the past year was £2 8s per child, contingent on £1 being collected for every 15s to b« given as subsidy. It was found impossible to collect sufficient money to obtain the full subsidy and finally £2 Is 6d was received for each of the 376 children. The work of the principal, Miss C. Colegrove, was rewarded by the Free Kindergarten Union of New Zealand by electing her to a Carnegie Fellowship. Mr. T. U.
