INTOXICATED DRIVER
OFFENDER SENT TO PRISON CAR TAKEN FROM STREET [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday For being drunk when in charge of a motor-car, John Paton Hardy was sentenced to one month's imprisonment, and for the unlawful conversion of a car to three months' imprisonment. For driving without a licence he was discharged. He was prohibited from obtaining a licence for 12 months. Accused took a car from the street, but had only just started to drive off when a constable approached him about its being parked the wrong way. The constable then found that the man was unsteady on his feet and took him to the police station.
