AERODROME PROPOSAL WHANGAREI HARBOUR BOARD [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday A lively exchange of words occurred at the last meeting of the Whangarei Harbour Board, when a letter was received from the Minister of Defenoe suggesting tlu appointment of two delegates to discuss the matter of an aerodrome with other local body representatives. Members deplored tho apparent lack of co-operation among the local bodies. Mr. R. H. Allan said the secretary of the board, Mr. W. M. Fraser,. had given out information, and as a result nil arrangements had been squashed. He added: "I think the board has been made to appear silly, and I think Mr. Fraser should take the board more into his confidence." Mr. Fraser: I will take back nothing which I have said. 1 would rather resign. The chairman, Mr. J. A. Finlayson: The whole trouble is that the board has been held responsible for statements made by Mr. Fraser in the street. Mr. Finlayson and Mr. E. L. Whimp wero appointed to represent the board in discussions.
