ROTORUA NEWS

The annual meeting of the Rotorua Travel Club was held in the Women's Club rooms, Arawa Street, the president, Mrs. G. Skene Dixon, presiding. The election of officers resulted:—Joint conveners, Mrs. G. Skene Dixon and Mrs. J. Banks; secretary and treasurer, Miss M. Arthur; committee, Mesdames A. C. Randerson, J. U, Collins, A. Peace, Misses Hadfield, M. Hoole, G. La Trobe Hill, P. St. Clair and L. Harris. An afternoon was given for members of the Rotorua Croquet Club by the president, Mrs. J. Banks, and Mrs. D. Herd, on the club lawns, Government Gardens. Two competitions were won by Mrs. M. Manson and Mrs. Heley. Among those present were:— Mesdames Heley, Hall, Blencowe, La Trobe Hill, Worthington, A. Manson, M. Manson, Green, Parata, J. MacDowel I, Cohnle, E. Robinson, Hook, Jackson, Hesketh. The annual meeting of the St. Luke's Girls' Club took place in the Parish Hall, the Rev. R. Hodgson, presiding. The election cf officers was as follows: President, Mrs. R. Hodgson; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames E. A. McCutcheon, H. Gribble, G. French, M. Shuttleworth ant ! M iss Hitchen; secretary, Miss Jean Winslade; treasurer, Miss Olga Schultz; committee, Miss G. Dillon, Miss J. A. Allen, Miss V. White and Miss M. Lasenbv The prize for the best attendance at club functions during last year was awarded to Miss V. White. The closing function foi this year of the Hotorua Tennis Club took the form of a dance, which was held at Dixieland. The ballroom was attractively decorated in the club colours and several noveltv dances included in the evening's programme proved most popular. Those present included Mrs. E. G. Guv Mrs. H.
