WOMEN'S DIVISION

Onewhero.—The branch celebrated its 6th anniversary recently with a social gathering. Mrs. J. W. Henderson presided over a good attendance. The following items were given:—Pianoforte solos by Miss M. Andrews, songs by Mrs. 11. Crawford and two glees by some of the junior members. A one-act play, " The Young Idea," was acted by Miss K. Walter and Miss J. Reed. The competition for a bowl of flowers was won by Mrs. E. Muir, 1; Mrs. ftaby, 2; and another, for "the prettiest supper cloth made from a flour bag," by Mrs. Dayman, 1; Mrs. Spraggon, 2. The juniors had a competition for "The prettiest posy." This was won by Miss U. Henderson, 1; Miss Alison, 2. The progressive competition was won by Miss D. Hunt and the treasure hunt by Miss M. Marshall. The birthday cake was made by Airs. Tout and iced by Miss M. Liddle. Mercer.—The Mercer branch held a social and dance to celebrate its 2nd birthday. Mrs. W. Scott welcomed visitors and members. At intervals during the dancing the pupils of Miss 11. Docherty gave performances and Mrs. Wells (Pukekawa) sang. Mrs. Scott gave a short talk on co-operation in branch work. She was presented with a bouquet by Miss B. Oliver. The points prize for the year went to Mrs. Wilson. Mrs. Burns received one for the greatest number of entries in competitions. Mesdames Fall and Burns were in charge of the supper arrangements. The sum of £1 Is was sent to the Crippled Children's Fund. Pukekawa.—The annual meeting was held recently. The general points prize for the year was won by Mrs. Nicholla, 1; Mrs. 0. G. Brewster, 2; the garden ing points prize by Mrs. K. I). Orr, 1; Mrs. Elwin, 2. The following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. O. Q. Brewster; vice-presidents, Mosdames M G. Orr, Wells and Hawke; secretary, Mrs. K. D. Orr; treasurer, Mrs Nicholls. Maungakaramea.—There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the branch presided over by the president, Mrs. J. Purdon. The following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. J. Purdon; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. T. E. Porter; vice-presidents, Mrs. Harvey and Mrs. A. Babe; committee, Mesdames F. Walker. J. Wenzlick, W. H. Gillingham and T. Hannam; afternoon tea steward, Mrs. Bint; exchange secretary, Mrs. T. Hannam. Mrs. Harvey and Mrs. Gillingham were appointed delegates to the annual conference. The hostesses for the afternoon were:—Mesdames Harvey, Bint and Wenzlick.
