UAJLIUUIV i/JLil xiivxiujuii x CHANGES IN STAFF REORGANISATION PENDING Important reorganisation of the administrative staff of the Labour Department will be made when the & Labour Department Amendment Bill becomes law, states the Standard. Mr. J. S. Hunter, who succeeded Mr. G. C. Godfrey recently as Secretary of Labour, will retain the position, but he will have with him Mr. H. E. Moston as Assistant Secretary of Labour, this position being a new one. Mr. Moston will also become chief inspector of weights and measures. Mr. E. B. Taylor, who is a solicitor of the Supreme Court, will be the divisional controller of the industrial side of the work and registrar of industrial unions. He will also be registrar of apprentices. Mr. R. T. Bailey, at present officer in charge of the Labour Department in Christchurch, will go to Wellington as deputy-chief inspector of factories. Mr. A. J. Ridler will become controller of the employment section, and Mr G. M. F. Jackson, one of the members of the head office stalf, will become chief clerk and deputy-registrar of industrial unions. On the industrial side, as distinct from the administrative side, there will also be changes. Mr. F. Wilson, district inspector at Hamilton, will go to Christchurch as second inspector. Mr. J. Mclvor, district inspector at Nelson, will replace Mr. Wilson at Hamilton. Mr. W. J. Berryman, district inspector at Whangarei, will be transferred to Nelson. Mr. R. E. Rice, inspector of factories at Auckland, will be promoted to district inspector of factories at Whangarei. Air. W. H. Cadwallader goes from Palmerston North to serood inspector at Dunedin. Mr. G. Brown, district inspector at Greymouth, will be transferred to Palmerston North. Mr. C. H. Hoskins, inspector of factories at Christchurch, is promoted to district inspector at Greymouth. Mr.. J. G. Adair, inspector of factories at Oamaru, will go to the Dunedin office, and Mr. W. Currie will be transferred from Dunedin to fill the vacancy at Oamaru.
