ONEHUNGA ASSOCIATION The Onehunga Cricket Association's annual ball and preseatation of trophies attracted a large attendance of cricketers and supporters. Satisfaction with the improved form shown by players last season was expressed by the president, Mr. J. ,E. Green, who thanked the Mayor and borough councillors for their assistance in providing improved facilities for matches at Waikaraka Park. There was every indication, Mr. Green said, that within the next two years the park would be bo developed ns to constitute one of the most attractive playing fields in the metropolitan area. The Mayor of Onehunga, Mr. J. Park, briefly outlined the council's developmental scheme. He said that when certain necessary legislation had been agreed to, the work would be pushed ahead and employment provided for a largo number of men. Tho following trophies won during the past season were presented by Mr. Park:— D.O.'L. Championship Shield, Onehunga Rovers, with 10 wins and no losses; Lips-combe-Wilson Shield, Onehunga Woollen Mills; president's bat for the highest baiting average, P. Martin, with 38.3; Mr. R. G. Speight's bat for the highest one innings score. C. Collins with ltll runs; Mr. J. Bradsh*w'a batting gloves for the bowler securing the highest number of wickets, T. Collins, v ho took 73 at a cost o! 5.42 each.
