CONTEST TO-MORROW NIGHT PLUTO TO OPPOSE JACOBS Thrilling boxing may be expected in both the amateur and professional contests at the Town Hall to-morrow evening, when the Auckland Boxing Association will stage ,»in even more attractive programme than 'that offered last Monday. The principal feature will be the professional contest of 15 rounds between Cyril Pluto, the brilliant Australian boxer, and Em Jacobs, a well-performed middle-weight, who will be making his first appearance in Auckland. Pluto came to New Zealand preceded by an excellent reputation, which, in his debut last Monday, he proved to be fully justified. Jacobs comes to Auckland with the reputation of being a hard-punching fighter and, if he upholds that reputation, Auckland followers may expect thrills in plenty. Not only will the professional contest offer high standard entertainment, but also the special nmnleur programme. Two teams of Maoris from Mangere and Orakei will meet in a special teams match. It will be remembered that the Orakei Maoris provided fine entertainment in their series of one-minute bouts last Monday. The whole programme offers the best of thrilling entertainment, and it is expected that the hall will be crowded.
