AMERICA AND COLOMBIA TARIFF REDUCTIONS GRANTED WASHINGTON, April 22 The reciprocal trade treaty with Colombia, South America, which was negotiated last autumn came into effect yesterday by an order issued by the President. Ten treaties have now been effected with foreign countries. America was granted tariff reductions on 150 items, ranging from agricultural products to machinery, motor-cars and electrical supplies. Concessions to Colombia included reductions on native products such as castor beans and the assurance that coffee, bananas and other products shall remain on the free list. CANADA BENEFITS AGREEMENT REVIEWED THREE MONTHS' OPERATION WASHINGTON, April 22 Trade figures published on the movement of goods between the United States and Canada in January, February and March, the first three months during which the treaty has been effective, show an appreciable increase, with Canada benefiting iu the greater proportion. Imports to the United States were valued at 69,494,000 dollars, compared with 55,838,000 in the corresponding period of 1935, or an increase of about 25 per cent.,,

Exports to Canada were valued at 85,167,000 • dollars, compared with 77,978,000, or an increase of 10 per cent.
