FIRE DESTROYS HOUSE
OWNER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU. Thursday The 10-roomed dwelling of Mr. F. G. Willis, farmer, of Hairini, near To Awamutu, was destroyed by fire late yesterday afternoon. Mr. Willis was absent from the house at the time and the flames had a gcod hold when discovered. While he was endeavouring to remove furniture from the blazing house, Mr. Willis collapsed. He was taken to a Te Awamutu private hospital by neighbours. To-day his condition was regarded as satisfactory.
