DIRT ON THE ENGINE

If dirt is allowed to collect on tho engine or chassis the grit it contains will gradually work into tho joints of control rods and other moving parts. It may cause wear, particularly in the steering mechanism, that is expensive to repair. Both engine and chassis should bo cleaned periodically. There are two satisfactory methods of doing this. One is to brush the dirt off with petrol or kerosene and then wipe over with clean rags. The other is to soak with a fairly strong solution of phenyle, which can bo applied with a brush, and then hoso down thoroughly. Care must be taken in using phenyle to see that it does not come into contact with any paint or lacquer.
