LONDON'S STREET MARKETS
London's famous street markets, Petticoat Lane Club Row and Bethnal Green which do enormous business on Sundays, may have to close down. A Bill introduced recently by Mr. P. C. Loftus, Conservative member for Lowestoft, prohibits Sunday trading, with certain exceptions. Under tho proposals, Jews who have conscientious objections to trading on Saturdays will bo permitted to carry on their business until 1 o'clock on Sundays. Mr. Mike Stern, president of tho London Street Traders' Association, stated that members were opposing the measure, and that 26,000 people had signed a potition against tho Bill.
