FORGED FINGER-PRINTS
STARTLING DISCOVERIES Mr. J. L. C. McFaddin, jun., the Now York finger-print and identification expert, has announced that fingerprints can bo forged so perfectly that they cannot be distinguished from tho original. He has discovered a transfer process by which a person's finger-print can be placed on a surface he has never touched. From 200 experiments Mr. McFaddin says ho has proved that finger-prints on a glass in Chicago could bo transferred to a knifo in San Francisco, with the result that if finger-print evidence were accepted a man might be convicted of a murder of which he had no knowledge.
