WAIKATO WINTER SHOW
INTEREST IN TREE-PLANTING PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, "Wednesday Keen interest has been taken by the Waikato Winter Show Association in tree-planting and bush preservation, and the association recently had printed a series of envelope and wrapper stickers reproducing photographs of native trees, which aroused much interest. To encourage an interest in treeplanting and bush preservation, the association has now proidd&l eight special classes in its photographic section to be exhibited at the next Winter Show, which opens in Hamilton on May 26 and continues until June 3. Substantial prizes and diplomas ar<> offered to successful photographers, professional and amateur, who take part in the competition. There are eight classes, provision being made for pictures of kauri, rimu, and any other variety of • native trees, and groups of native trees. An opportunity is thus afforded photographers to cooperate with the association in its desire to stimulate interest in afforestation and bush preservation.
