OBITUARY
MR. W. H. EMETT [from our own correspondent) TE AROHA, Wednesday The death has occurred of Mr. William Henry Emott, of Mann warn, To Aroha, aged 62. Ho was born at Thames, but as a boy went with his parents to tho Waiorongomai goldfield. For 15 years he was a well-known figure in the various goldmining centres as a contractor for the transport of mining machinery and equipment. About 20 years ago Mr. Kmett commenced fanning at Manawaru and played a prominent part in the development of that district, being ono of those responsible for the formation of the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, of which ho was the first chairman of directors. Since 1928 Mr. Emott had been a member of the Piako County Council. He was a keen fisherman and well known as a deer-stalker. Ho is survived by Mrs. Eniett, threo sons and ono daughter. >
