MILITARY PARADE
BIRTHDAY OF HERR HITLER TROOPS REVIEWED IN BERLIN BERLIN, April 20 On the occasion of Herr Hitler's 47th birthday Berlin was transformed into an armed camp. Such a parade of military power has never previously been seen, even in the most spectacular days of the Kaiser. Millions of flags welcomed 35,000 troops reviewed by Herr Hitler and General von Blomberg. Four hundred tanks and scores of lorries equipped with searchlights and anti-aircraft guns passed along the Unter den Linden and through the Brandenburg Gate, and hundreds of sailors also participated in the parade. General von Blomberg has been promoted to Field-Marshal and General Goering to Colonel-General of the Air Force. MESSAGE TO LEADER KING SENDS GREETINGS BERLIN, April 20 King Edward has sent a message to Herr Hitler as follows: " I am happy to avail myself of the occasion of your birthday to convey my sincere greetings with best wishes for your happiness and well-being." Herr Hitle»- replied, thanking His Majesty for his congratulations and reciprocating his greetings.
