LYCEUM CLUB

ARTS AND CRAFTS LUNCHEON A luncheon in honour of Mrs. C. J. Dickinson, until recently convener of the Arts and Crafts Circle of the Lyceum Club, who is leaving very shortly on a visit to England, was gi\en by the circle at the club yesterday. The tables had been beautifully decorated by Mrs. B. Macmorran and Mrs. Mellsopp in a scheme of rich autumn colourings in which tawnv chrysanthemums, both single and double, Iceland poppies, and Josephines took pride of place. The gathering was a very large one over which the president of the club, Mrs. W. H. Parkes, presided. A bficf welcome was extended to the guest of honour by the president, and later Mrs. Parkes," on behalf of members of the circle, presented Mrs. Dickinson with a beautiful hand-made suede travelling cushion fitted with all kinds of devices for a traveller. In doing so, Mrs. Parkes said that Mrs. Dickinson had been a member of the club since it had been started and a vice-president almost since its inception. Especially would she be missed by the Arts and Crafts Circle, whose work she had. furthered in every possible way. In thanking members for their gift and good wishes, Mrs. Dickinson paid a warm tribute to the support they had given her in furthering the work in which they were all so keenly interested. Every member had done her best to bring success to the circle. Mrs. Dickinson was also the recipient of gifts of flowers from some of those present.
