It should be the privilege and duty of all New Zealanders to preserve that heritage intact and inviolate, and to develop the growth of trees wherever practicable. . THE WAIKATO WINTER SHOW ASSOCIATION recognises the sacred trust imposed on it and other responsible bodies, and it numbers among its members staunch advocates of afforestation and bush preservation. In order to inculcate and stimulate similar tastes among its patrons, it offers substantial prizes and diplomas to successful photographers, amateur and professional, w.ho take part in the special competition to be held at the next WAIKATO which opens in the Winter Show Buildings, Ward Street, Hamilton, on May 26 next and continuing until Wednesda)', June 3. There are eight classes in this particular section, provision being made for pictures of kauri, rimu, any other variety of native trees, and groups of native t..ee3.
