CLERGY TEAM DEFEATED A team representing the Church of England clergy met a St. John's College eleven ut tho Domain, the match resulting in a win for St. John's by 10 runs. Among the spectators were Archbishop Averill and Mrs. Averill, Rev. Canon Strong and Rev. Bamford. Details are as follows:—St. John's College: First innings, 78 (Beech 12 not out, Cameron 11, Rangiihu 10). Bowling: Rov. Martin Sullivan took four wickets for 21 runs. Rev. W. Averill four for 37. Clorgy : I'irst; innings, 68 (S. Averill 27, Rev. W. Averill 13, Rov. L. E. Cartridge 16). Bowling: Heerdegen seven for 19, Talbot two for 31.
