BRIGHT PICTURES EASTER WEDDING GROUPS STRONG SPORTING SECTION In the bright pictorial section of The Weekly News, which is now on sale, an array of beautiful brides and their bridegrooms testify to the populiarity of Easter for weddings. Groups from all over New Zealand are reproduced and the social notes lend support with accounts of many marriage functions. Deer stalking is the subject of a display of attractive pictures taken on a recent expedition. Several snapshots of the Auckland provincial polo championship meeting at Cambridge last week, the South Auckland Brass Bands content at Hamilton, and of the recent university athletic tournament, are also published. In the women's pages appears an article on New Zealand authoresses who have succeeded in the fields of history, poetry, fairy tale and travel writing. The arts and crafts page and Aunt Daisy's domestic bureau contain many useful hints for home-makers. Sporting contributors this week include Mr. H. D. Brinsden, Auckland provincial golf champion, who describes the championship golf course of the New Plymouth Club, of which he iB a member. Mr. Mark Nicholls writes his usual challenging Rugby article. This week he discusses the kick-into-touch .rule. "The Recorder" ha? written a survey of the English Football Association Cup competition for soccer readers. The cup tie is played next Saturday.
