Mr. H. F. O'Leary, K.C., of Wellington. arrived in Auckland yesterday.
Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., was a pas. senger for Wellington by last evening's express.
Mr. P. J. O'Regan, of Wellington, arrived in Auckland yesterday and is at the Central Hotel.
Mr. E. T. Spidy, general superintendent of railway workshops, left for Wellington by the limited express last evening.
Mr. J. R. Deal, deputy-registrar of the Supreme Court in. Invercargill, has been appointed official assignee in Christchurch
Mr. C. H. Eckersley, district manager at Wanganui for the Provident Life Assurance Company, has been transferred to the company's head office in Melbourne.
Mr. W. J. Holdsworth left for Wellington by the limited express last evening to attend a meeting of the Local Government Loans Board, of which he is a member.
The Per. J. C. Dennis, lately of Hamilton East, has taken up his duties as minister in charge of the Levin Methodist circuit, to which he was recently transcribed.
Mr. F. J. Ansell, North Island manager for the Jr' C. W illiamson Picture Corporation, Limited, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning. He is at. the Central Hotel. Mr. W. H. Cadwallader. . who has been in charge of the Labour Department's office in Palmerston North since 1932, has received notice of ha transfer on promotion to Dunedin. Mr. J. 'G. Lockie, inspector of machinery and examiner of engineers for the Marine Department in Auckland, who has been promoted to take charge of the Greymouth district, left for the south last evening. Air-Marshal Sir Robert Clark-Hall, of Christchurch, has accepted the office of Dominion Rover Commissioner for the New Zealand Bov Scouts, in succession to Dr. F. J. Borrie, who has been appointed Metropolitan Commissioner for Dunedin. Mr. W.- J. Berryman, who has been district inspector of factories at Whangarei, for the past 14 months, has been transferred to Nelson, and will leave during the first week of May. His successor will be Mr. R. E. Price, of Auckland. Major S. Hayes, who for the past five years has been in command of the Auckland division of the Salvation Army, has ' been appointed secretary to the territorial headquarters in Wellington of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, which conducts the Army's trading operationi in New Zealand.
