ROTORUA INTERESTS

A social evening was held in the Druids' Hall last week by members of tho Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows to extend a welcome to the District Grand Master, Mr. Eade, and Mrs. Eade, who are visiting Rotorua. The evening; was pleasantly spent jn cards and dancing and a cake competition was won by Misa M. Ruddy. In addition to local members present, the Mamaku Lodge was well represented At the weekly parade of tho Rotorua Girl Guides, a presentation of service stars was made to the following guides by Miss Gwen Tanner, acting-captain of tho company:—Misses Margaret Hodgson (fourth year), Stella Jones (third year), Enid Clarke (third year), Evelyn Brown (second year), Dorothy Scarr (second year), Dorothy Clarke (second year).

Miss H. Hopkins, of Hamilton, who is spending an extended holiday at Ohope Beach, was tho guest of Mrs. H. Langguth, Carnot Street, when visiting Rotorua for a few days. Miss M. Marlowe, of Marguerita Street, has been spending a week in Wellington. Mrs. E. La Trobe Hill, and Miss G. La Trobe Hill, of Hinemoa Street, have returned from spending a few davs at the Chateau.

Miss O. Loudon is at present visiting Wellington. Mrs. Trevor Howard and family, of Mangere, are visiting Rotorua and have taken Sir Clutha McKenzib's house at Hamurana.

Mrs. W. Foggin and Miss Norah Foggin, of Pererika Street, have returned from a visit to tho Chateau. Miss Margaret McKenzie, of Rotorua, has returned from a visit to Te Puke. 4

Mrs. L. Dingle, of Hinemoa Street, is spending a week at the Mount. Miss E. von Pein, of Onehunga, is making an extended visit to Rotorua. Miss J. Ford, of Toko Street, has returned from a visit to Napier and Hastings. Lady Hunter, of Wellington, is visiting Rotorua. Miss E. Baker, of Auckland, is a visitor to Rotorua.
