ECHO OF POLISH RIOTS
GOVERNMENT PAPER SEIZED SURPRISING ACTION BY CENSOR (Received April 20, 5.5 p.m.) WARSAW. April 19 Although confiscations of newspapers have been common in recent months, Poland was astonished to-day at the seizure of an issue of the Government's own organ, the Gazeta Polska, by the censor, owing to an article dealing with the Lwow riots on April 16. Heavy casualties resulted from a clash between police - and workers at Lwow on April 16. The rioting originated at the funeral of two unemployed men killed during previous rioting. A large body of workers gathered in the streets and proceeded in a procession through the city. The police opposed them and fired, killing a woman, whoso body fcHe infuriated crowd covered with a Red Flag and carried shoulder high. The rioters did considerable damage in the city and finally 3000 men barricaded themselves all the afternoon in the main thoroughfare. The police charged from side streets and overcame their resistance, but sniping continued until a late hour.
