BAN ON DR. ECKENER

MINISTER'S ORDER STANDS GENERAL GOERING POWERLESS (Received April 20, 8.15 p.m.) BERLIN, April 50 Dr. Hugo Eckener, who commanded the new airship Hindenburg on her recent South Atlantic flight, and whose name was banned from the newspapers by order of the Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Paul Goebbels, because of his alleged discourtesy to Herr Hitler, has left Berlin after a short talk with the Air Minister, General Goering, who assured Dr. Eckener of his friendship, but regretted that he was unable to countermand Dr. Goebbels' ban.

Accordingly the newspapers still ignore Dr. Eckener's existence. It is now rumoured that Dr. Eckener will not command the Hindenburg when she starts her flight over the North Atlantic on May 6.
