The Waiheke Returned Soldiers' Club opened its third winter season on Saturday night in the Ostend Public Hall with a five hundred card tournament and dancing. The evening was a most enjoyable one and was attended by over 60 people from various parts of the island Supper was served by club members. Card winners were: Mrs. Jacobson (Auckland), Air. E. Brown (Ostend). Winners of dancing competitions: Aliss A. Brown (Ostend), Air. Al. Blom field (Oneroa). The music-was supplied bv Alessrs. T. and P. O Brion and Airs. T. Deyell. The card prizes were presented by the club's secretary, Air. T. Deyell.
