RETURNED SOLDIERS
ACTIVITIES AT WAIHI INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP [FROM OCR OWN" correspondent] WAIHI, Monday The annual meeting of the Waihl Returned Soldiers' Association was held' on Saturday night. _ *. The president, Mr. J. Mitchell, in presenting the annual report and balance-sheet, said that the association had experienced a most satisfactory year. The membership had substantially increased, and it now stood at 116, the largest since the inauguration of the association 37 years ago. ; The statement of accounts showed that the receipts for the year were £125, and the expenditure £lO4, leaving a credit balance of £2l. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. J. Thorn, M.P.; president, Mr. J. Mitchell; vice-presidents, Messrs. V. Hollis ? R. Walsh and A. J. Pollock; committee, Messrs. C. Ford. C. Lloyd, L. Hartwell, J. Patello. H. Thomas and F. Wilton; treasurer, Mr. F. Ray; secretary, Mr. H. E. McCarthny; auditor/ Mr. J. W. Meiklejolin.
