THE RIGHT-HAND RULE

Sir, —Tn replying to "Motorist No. 1" re. the above, I have always understood, as he has done, that before crossing a main highway a driver should stop or make sure there was no traffic coming on his right. This, I think, is generally understood, but the point at issue is whether after doing so and proceeding across tho road, should he stop again to give way to a driver coming on. his left at the" other side of the road, or should the said driver give way to him. Mr. Hunt gave his decision in favour of the driver crossing over the road, and my object in writing to tlie paper was to call attention to his decision, which is strictlv in accordance with the righthand rule. If made absolute and strictly adhered to, this rule would be the means of preventing many accidents. One Who Was Hit.
