THE MILK COUNCIL
Sir, —I think there is something radically wrong with the whole system when the farmer who produces the finished product gets fivepence per galJon and the consumer pays fivepenco per quart. In my district I have a friend who is a producer-vendor and lie says the cost of distribution equals the cost of production. That being the case, milk should be sold for twopencehalfpenny per quart, or alternatively the farmer should get tenpence per gallon. The farmer is compelled by law to supply a finest grade article, and no after-treatment can improve tho milk. There would be much more milk consumed if the consumer got a fair deal Farmer.
