NO LIGHTS ON CAR
SEQUEL TO BREAKDOWN DRIVER APPEARS IN COURT [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Monday An unusual set of circumstances was described by Constable F. Wakelin in the Pukekohe Police Court to-day when George A. F. Hancock, of Penrose, was prosecuted for having no lights on his car at Te Kauwhata on December 9. Constable Wakelin said defendant hailed a passing car and, having explained that his own car had broken down, was asking for help when a motor-cyclist collided with the unlighted
Defendant said ho had trouble with the car and did not wish to run tho battery down by leaving the lights on. He was convicted and ordered tq pay costs, £2 ss.
