Departmental officers and the postmasters at Waipukurau and Porangahau, and the chairman and members of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board and the Patangata County Council were also present. Mr, .J. Roach, chairman of the celebration committee, welcomed the visitors. Maoris gave a haka and a poi dance.
