CEREMONY AT PORANGAHAU NEW POST OFFICE OPENED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION"] WAIPUKURAU, Monday Celebrations of much significance in •Central Hawke's Hay took place at Porangahau to-day, when the new post office building was formally declared open, and tlie electric supply, via the Ongaonga sub-station and Waipukurau. was switched on.
The ceremonies were performed by the Hon. Sir Alfred Ransom, member for Pahiatua, and by the chief postmaster at Napier. Departmental officers and the postmasters at Waipukurau and Porangahau, and the chairman and members of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board and the Patangata County Council were also present. Mr, .J. Roach, chairman of the celebration committee, welcomed the visitors. Maoris gave a haka and a poi dance.
