THE WINNING PLAYERS The international winners of the 1936 Olympic bridge.contest have been declared as follows: — North-South. Messrs. It. E. Horner and A. Harris. Ottawa, Canada, and Mr. S. Itivlin and Captain W H. Ricardo. Cardiff, Wales, equal East-West.—Dr. Paul Stern and Dr. Paul Kaltenegger. Vienna, Austria. .The winners in the New Zealand section were:— ' North-South.—Mrs. S. J. Gill. Masterton, and Airs. W. E. Ha wson. Wellington. East-West.—Messrs. C. N. Tucker ■nd C. V. Cavendish, Auckland. CONTRACT PLAYERS NORTHERN CLUB'S AFFAIRS A highly successful past year was reported at the annual meeting of the Northern Contract Bridge Club, when the president, Dr. Bruce Mackenzie, expressed the,hope that the club would extend its activities until it compared favourably with clubs overseas. The foliowi ng offir-er.s were elected: Dr. Peter Moir; lion secretary, Mr. C. N. Tucker; lion, treasurer, Mr. V. J. Parkinson; hon. auditor. Mr. R E. Stratton; committee, Mesdames Ballantyne, Noakes, Messrs. A. N. Lamb. N. E. Watson, R. K. Wylie.
