EARLY START INDICATED [BY TELEGRAPH —I'RESS ASSOCIATION] GISBORNE, Monday The opinion that 1500 to 2000 men would be employed on the NapierWairoa section of the East Coast line, and that the completion of this section would be the first object of the Government, was expressed to-day by Mr. 1). W. Coleman, M.P. He stated that, whilo he was unaware of the intentions of the Minister of Public Works, the indications were that an early start would bo made at the Napier end, and also with the fabrication of the Mohaka viaduct. On the northern end the completion of the tunnels was likely to be the first concern of the department, and when these were finished the men could be transferred from the Napier-Wairoa section, together with the plant and machinery.
