MEETING AT HAMILTON CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED MISS CAMPBELL'S SPRINTING [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Sunday In spite of threatening weather conditions, the annual championship meeting of the Hamilton Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club at Steele Park yesterday afternoon was completed without interruption. There was a good gallery of spectators, considerable interest being taken in the effort made by Miss Ida Campbell to lower the Dominion 100 yards ladies' record of 11 l-ss. Saturday A feature of the Franklin Secondary Schools Sports Association's fourth annual athletic snorts meeting held in the Pukekohe Technical High School grounds today was the fine jumping by K. Rika, of St. Stephen's School, Bombay. Rika established new records for both the broad and high jumps, clearing sft. Sin. and 20ft. B£in. respectively. Nine other records were broken. There was a large gathering of spectators.

The senior championship was won by St. Stephen's School, with 35 points, Wesley College, Paerata, being second, with 34 points, and Pukekohe High School third, with 30. The junior championship -was won by Pukekohe High School, with 56 points. St. Stephen's gained 19 points and Wesley College six. Sunday There was a good attendance at a meeting at Te Puke to consider whether a sports gathering should be held this year. Mr. R. C. Steele presided. Those present were unanimous that an amateur gathering could be held, as there were many youns athletes in the district w h° would much prefer the amateur status. A delegate from the school committee stated that (he committee was prepared to allow the Smith Cup competition for primary schools in the district to be included in the proVTus decided to form a club to be known as the Te Puke Amateur Athletic Club and that the initial sports meeting be held on following officers were elected:—Pat--1 ron, the Mayor, Mr. H. 0.
