STUDY IN CONTRASTS
MOSCOW CHURCHES FULL MILITANT REDS' CONGRESS LONDON. April 12 Easter eve services in the comparatively few churches left open in Moscow were crowded last evening as they have not been since the campaign against roligion began, says the Daily Telegraph's correspondent. This revival of interest in religion indicates a general slackening of class war methods. The 10th All Union Congress of tho Young Communist League opened in the Grand Palace at the Kremlin and was marked by extreme militancy. The League, which has more than 2,000.000 members, is being gradually dissociated from politics, but its military character is being intensified. So far, 1,259,743 members have passed tests as snipers, and 1,345,364 have qualified for anti-gas work.
