CHIEFTAIN HONOURED
SANDRINGHAM CALEDONIANS Over 150 members of the Sandringham Caledonian Society assembled in the Carlton -Sail on Saturday evening) when a successful jngleside was held. The function wasifarranged in the form of a social farewell to the senior chieftain, Mr. F. A. McKenzie. The society chief) Mr. W. D. Fulton, and representatives of the St. Andrew's Society of Auckland, the Otahuhu and Onehunga Caledonian Societies, and the Scottish Regimental Association, were piped to the platform with the customary ceremonial. During the evening Mr. Fulton presented Mr. McKenzie with a teaservice on behalf of the executive ana members. Mr. Fulton referred to tnfl excellent and enthusiastic services rendered by Mr. McKenzie, who had been one of the chief promoters of Sandringham Society. An excellent musical and dance programme was enjoyed. Vocal solos wer contributed bv Mrs. Bruce, Mr.. A. McEwan and Mr. L. Stewart, elocutionary items were rendered bv Mrs- ' Donne, and mouth-organ solos by - / S. McEwan. Highland dances were presented by Miss Reid to piping acco paniments by Mr. Cowper, a " played selections. An enjoyable da programme, including several old & tish numbers, was directed bv Mr. ' McTavish, to music provided by <•" society's honorary orchestra.
