DANCE AT RIPONUI
[from our own correspondent} WHANCrAREI. Monday The fine new hall at Riponui was officially opened with a grand dance, the hall being crowded. The interior of the building was decorated with coloured streamers and flags. Mr. F. Elliot, in declaring the hall open, congratulated the settlers of the district on their enterprise and energy. Messrs. J. Rarity and W. Thorburn were masters of ceremony. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss P. Brydon and Mr. D. Pugh, and a statue one-step by Miss I. Perkinson and Mr. J. Howie. An iced cake was won by Mrs. N. A. Walker.
