Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES
BIENNIAL CONFERENCE The biennial senior conference of the Young Women's Christian Association was held at Waikanae during the Easter vacation. The delegates" were housed in the Hotel Mahara, Mrs. Fitch, of the national executive, being the conference hostess. Delegates were as follows:—Wellington, Misses L. Bridgman, McCrea, ft. Cade, L. Saunders, Mrs. Hoskin ; Dunedin, Miss D. Lynn, Mrs. Fowler, Misses C. Ashton, R. Ross, H. Hislop, E. Holmes; Palmerston North, Misses P. Hindle, P. Hastings, F. Musgrave, B. Baillie, M. Baillie, R. Lees: New Plymouth, Misses M. Greenwell, I. Jasper, E. Chivers, J. Mayn, J. Berry; Auckland, Misses E. Bennet, O. Bishop, M. Cole, T. Warren, C. Whyte, J. Mitchell, Mrs. Hynes, Mrs. Gates.
The opening address was given by Miss Stevenson, national general secretary. The special speaker for the conference, the Rev. 0. E. Burton, took as his subject "Society as a Creative Factor in the Life of Ciur Time."
