MEXICO ELIMINATED AMERICA WINS ROUND (Received April 12. 5.5 p.m.) •NEW YORK. April 11 America has eliminated Mexico in the opening matches of the Davis Cup contest. In the singles at Houston yesterday Budge defeated Esterban Reyes 6 3, 6—l, 6 —l, and Grant defeated Daniel Hernandez, an 18-years-old collego student, 3—6. 6—2, 6—3, 6—3. In the doubles to-day Allison and an Ryn overwhelmed Flavio Martinez ai 'd Antonio Mestro, 6 —o, 6—l, 6—2. America now advances to the zone nnals against Australia. The team for the series at Germantown probably will the same as that in action at •Houston.
