MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU WAIPA PRIMARY ASSOCIATION [from our own corrkspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Sunday The Waipa Primary Schools' Amateur Athletic Association's annual sports mooting was held at Albert Park, Te Awamntu, when over 600 scholars from tho primary schools in the Te Awamutu district competed in the various events. The meeting was splendidly organised and reflects great credit on the committee of teachers, headed by Mr. A. J. Shepherd, as president, and Mr. A. L. Gilmore, as secretary. An innovation was a marching contest, in which Bevcn squads competed. Captain Oliphant, M.C., acted as judge and points were awarded for deportment, time, wheeling and general appearance. Marching Competition.—Pirongia, 11 points, 1; Kihikihi, 10 points, 2; Te Awamutu. To Mawhai, Mangapiko (equal). 8 points, 3. In the marching event the judge complimented Pirongia on a very creditable display. Kihikihi's wheeling and general deportment were good, but its marching left a little to be desired.
