WIN FOR W. N. MASEFIELD [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] NELSON. Sunday The South Island rifle championship was won yesterday by W N Masefield (Blenheim), with a score of 424. The runner-up was N. Perkir.s (Westport). who totalled 416. The order of the remainder of the final 15 was: —J. R. Kooglnin (Westport), 412: 1. Nicholls (Blenheimi. 411: F. Sharland (Nelson), 410; T. Goodall (Wellington), 409; B. B. Jones (Nelson). 103. J. Vitetta (Nelson). 407; W. West (Marlborough). 405; W. H Duncan, son. (Westport), 405; A. Maisey (Waimea). 404, W. L Johnston (Timaru), 403; N. Manssei' (Nelson). 402; S. Burnett (Nelson). 397 J. Oliver (Blenheim* started well the previous day and was not headed throughout. In addition to the champion belt he won the Colonel Smith Cup for the midfield aggregate, and also the service shooting. J. Keoghan won the Stewart Dawson Cup for the highest score in a championship match with 48. The Stead Tyro Cup went to J. Oliver. Westport won the Watkinson Shield for the teams match.
